Indian Railways Launches Yatri Seva Anubandh (YSA) Initiative for Enhanced Passenger Experience on Vande Bharat Express Trains in the Southern Railway Region

The Indian Railways has initiated a pioneering initiative named Yatri Seva Anubandh (YSA) to enhance passenger services on six pairs of Vande Bharat Express trains within the Southern Railway network. The objective of this scheme is to elevate the travel experience for passengers by introducing a range of value-added services.

Travelers will receive support from the Railways at both the starting and concluding stations, encompassing services such as cab reservations, wheelchair assistance, and buggy transport. Additionally, passengers will have access to essential travel items and amenities during their journey.

Furthermore, passengers on board will be provided with high-quality content through the infotainment system, ensuring compliance with data protection, broadcasting, and intellectual property rights regulations.

In terms of sustenance, passengers can expect a diverse and exclusive food menu, sourced from ISO-certified base kitchens. The Railways aspire to offer top-notch cuisine to Vande Bharat Express passengers, imposing specific guidelines on the contracted food service providers. These guidelines include having a sufficient number of staff with training in food and housekeeping, periodic payment and documentation reviews, and the requirement of a spacious, hygienic kitchen in Chennai capable of preparing multiple meals daily.

To implement YSA, the Railways will enlist a service provider with a proven track record in catering and housekeeping. Each coach will be assigned a trained housekeeping professional to uphold cleanliness standards.

Passengers have the option to pre-order meals at the time of ticket booking or through the Yatri Seva app. Additionally, a la carte services are available on board. Notably, beef and pork will be excluded from all food items, and a qualified individual will oversee food and beverage services in each train.

The Vande Bharat Express operates on various routes within the Southern Railway, including Chennai-Mysore, Chennai-Tirunelveli, Chennai-Coimbatore, Thiruvananthapuram-Kasargod, and Chennai-Vijayawada. The sixth route is yet to be announced.
