Golden Temple

The lower floor is the worshipping place of Guru Granth Sahib (the holy book of Sikh) while the upper floor houses the bedroom inside Akal Takht. The ground of the entire temple complex is purely made of white marble while the ceiling is decorated with motifs, jewels, and royal chandeliers.
The temple stands amidst the 154.5×148.5 meter square holy pool ‘Amrit Sarovar. It is believed taking a bath at this pool washes away all your sins. The temple is also famous for mouth watering Guru Ka langar and Kara Prasad.

Jallianwala Bagh
Jallianwala Bagh is a famous heritage attraction and a public garden in Amritsar housing a memorial dedicated to the peaceful massacre initiated by the unarmed Punjabi civilians in 13th April 1919 as a protest against the arrest of two national leaders- Saifuddin Kitchlew and Satya Pal.
When Brigadier General Reginald Dyer heard about this assemble; he reached with his gunmen at the garden blocking the doorways and continuously fired in the crowd for 10 minutes. The firing also occurred in other doorways left for the civilians to flee.

The incident killed around 1000 people and injured more than 1500. The brutal incident initiated the trigger to end the British Raj in India forever. The memorial dedicated to this massacre incident was built after India’s independence from the British, by the Indian Government in 1951.
